Be careful with your animals this Holiday Season

Pets enjoy christmas sometimes too much. Be very careful with ribbon, tinsil and other string like material over this holiday season becasue cats and dogs are attracted to it and sometimes will injest it. As a result of eating these foreign objects, they can become stuck in their intestines causing a string foreign body which often requires surgical removal.

Chocolate and other treats left unattended are "fair game" in your dog's mind and this can cause chocolate toxicity. The signs are vomiting, diarrhea and neurological symptoms like shaking and these signs can progress to a full blown seizure.

If your pet has eaten something they shouldn't have this holdiay season make sure to consult your veterinarian.
